Android Market

Last night, around midnight, Google opened up the official Android Market. This is comparable to the iPhone’s App Store.

After logging in to the market website, it immediately describes what is required to submit applications.

It seems that all applications will be free until Q1 of 2009. This seems fair so all of the kinks can be worked out. I’m still trying to determine if IRCell will be free or a small, one-time payment of $3 or something. Perhaps I’ll just take donations on this website instead. I haven’t delved into the market too much but what I’ve seen so far, it could be pretty cool.

PS: I’ve just paid my $25.00 and can now submit applications.

Quality vs Features

Hello everyone and welcome to the official IRCell website. I would like to get some feedback from anyone that thinks they will be using IRCell on their Google Android phone. There is obviously demand for an IRC client for Android and I would like to fulfill it as soon as possible.

I would like to have a prototype version out as soon as possible so people can enjoy chatting online with babes all day. In order to do this, I have to plan ahead a bit.

I am interested to hear whether you would prefer a quality product with less features right away or your standard set of features with the possibility of error strewn throughout.

One feature that I’m specifically interested in is the ability to be attached to multiple servers at once. If I decided to go the single server route, it would only be temporary and to fulfill any immediate needs for a chat client. Let me know how you feel or if you have any other ideas you want to bring up.

Thanks!
