the list sounds great for starters.. background notifications would be awesome… also when it comes to nick highlighting, an additional option should be to set other terms for highlighting.. I know on a few work group channels I chat on, no one types my nick only name which does not match my nick.

Have you considered porting portions of PJIRC [pjirc.com]? The source is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pjirc/

Regarding the site, would be nice to have the blog posts on the front page instead of via the links on the right.

Both Alex (team member) and I have significant IRC programming experience. The main issue we face is applying it to the Android API; mainly the UI.

@Nick, I’m sure we’ll need beta testers so I’ll contact you when the time comes.

I need SSL support, since one of my biggest needs for the IRC client is to connect to my internal company IRC server, which uses SSL.
