IRCell

Last night, around midnight, Google opened up the official Android Market. This is comparable to the iPhone’s App Store.

After logging in to the market website, it immediately describes what is required to submit applications.

• Create a developer profile
• Pay a registration fee ($25.00) with your credit card (using Google Checkout)
• Agree to the Android Market Developer Distribution Agreement

It seems that all applications will be free until Q1 of 2009. This seems fair so all of the kinks can be worked out. I’m still trying to determine if IRCell will be free or a small, one-time payment of $3 or something. Perhaps I’ll just take donations on this website instead. I haven’t delved into the market too much but what I’ve seen so far, it could be pretty cool.
